Friends of Annex Parks is a site about the preservation and improvement of public parks in the Annex neighborhood in Toronto

The Annex is a unique neighborhood in downtown Toronto with a diverse mix of residents, parks and park users. The initial objective of this group and website is to find a sensible and sustainable solution for the needs of dog owners in the Annex who want to let their dogs run off leash in a public park.

IMPORTANT MEETING REGARDING HURON ST. PLAYGROUND

Toronto Parks Forestry and Recreation have received an application by an Annex dog owner group to create an off leash area in all or part of Huron St. Playground, at south east corner of Huron & Lowther Streets.

Councillor Adam Vaughan will be hosting a meeting on Tuesday October 7 from 6 to 8 PM at Senator Croll Apartments, 341 Bloor Street West in the Recreation Room on the 2nd floor (at the south east corner of Bloor and Huron) to discuss this application and what, if anything, the public and current park users can do about the park becoming an off-leash area.
